Gulyas Emese started to play the violin at age of 7 in Budapest, at the class of Dr. Skultety Antalne. She had her intermediate studies in the Weiner Leo Music High school and she attended the human class of Illyes Gyula High school. After a long thinking period she decided to play the violin so she continued her violin studies in the class of Laszlo Kote in the famous Bela Bartok Conservatory of Budapest. In 1999 she was the concertmaster of the conservatory's symphony orchestra. At the present she is the student of Istvan Kertesz at the Liszt Ferenc Music Academy. Her chamber music teachers are Geza Hargitai (Bartok Quartet) Sandor Devich, and Karoly Botvai. She is interested in many other things except playing the violin, from piano sonatas until choir conducting, what she is practicing actively for many years.
She took part of many master courses, the most important ones are the courses of Denes Zsigmondy and the Brahms Master course of Gyorgu Kurtag. She is performing in string quartets for 4 years, in 2003 she won 1st prize at the National Weiner Leo Chamber Competition, their teacher was Sandor Devich. In 2004 she won the 1st prize of the Yamaha International Scholarship for Strings at Budapest. Since 2000 she is performing in the Danubia National Youth Orchestra, Dohnanyi Erno Symphony Orchestra and Erdody Chamber Orchestra.
